In business, you have to be flexible. The market isn’t always what you anticipate it will be. We were powerfully reminded of this recently, when we suddenly found ourselves becoming accidental confectioners.
At our Farmer’s Market booth, we brought a variety of samples for people to try – samples that were made from our peppers, but were something different than the typical sauce. We have recipes posted for most of them.
But the candies seemed to strike a chord, more than we expected. People kept asking when we were going to start carrying them. Although it had never been our intent, we chose to respond to our customers by developing a line of candies.
Thus, Hellfire Farm has suddenly become a candy maker! The candies were popular at last week’s market, and we will see just how well they go over with a larger market at the First Fruits Memorial Balloon Festival this weekend!
